Carlsbad CA— MiraCosta College’s Community Education Program is offering the following noncredit courses this spring:
Intermediate CNC Programming (using MasterCam Mill v7): MasterCam is the most widely used CAM software in the industry, and this intermediate, 30-hour course will provide students with trade-specific tips and tricks, whether they are within the production or the programming department. This course will teach additional topics for more intricate programs and designs. HAAS simulators will be used to test run the programs.
This class is scheduled for Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4/19–5/26, 6–8:30 p.m. at the MiraCosta College Technology Career Institute, 2075 Las Palmas Drive, Carlsbad. Fee is $150.
Digital Precision Measuring (using a portable CMM): MiraCosta will offer two different courses, both an introduction to metrology using a portable CMM and the Verisurf CAD software. Students will learn the basics of inspection, measurement, analysis, and reverse engineering. One course will be offered for machinists and those working in a manufacturing environment. The other course will be offered for engineering technicians and those who are focusing more on R & D and testing.
The class dates have not yet been determined. Fee: $199.
