Festivities begin on Friday, July 1 with the First Friday ArtWalk in downtown O’side. The ArtWalk gets “Literary” this month as the Oceanside Public Library, the Oceanside Museum of Art and First Friday Oceanside Art Walk celebrate Arts and Literature. There will be live performances of Slam Poetry at the Oceanside Museum of Art, visual art with a literary twist and musical performances throughout the downtown Oceanside business district from Pier View Way to Mission Avenue and Coast Highway to N. Clementine.
The ‘Tri-City Medical Center Oceanside Independence Parade’, with a “volunteer” parade theme, takes center stage on Saturday July 2nd with Chris Gow; Volunteer Extraordinaire serving as this years Grand Marshal. Read about Chris [Here]. Parade floats are not the only entertainment that people can catch at the annual event. Local Marching Bands will be parading down Coast Highway bringing music and fun to all spectators lining the streets. Many of these bands are from local high schools. The parade will begin at 10:00 A.M starting on Wisconsin Street and heads north, up Coast Highway, ending at Pier View Way adjacent to the Civic Center Plaza.
On Sunday July 3rd, visit the Oceanside Museum of Art where admission is free 1:00pm-4:00pm. Explore all of the exhibitions, including California Fibers: Eclectic Threads which just opened last week.

Art Workshop: Weaving
$5 per adult (Includes up to 2 kids under 18)
Using yarn, fabric, and other materials (feel free to bring your own as well) you will create small weavings from a simple loom.
After the museum, head up the road for the annual Oceanside Fireworks show.
The fireworks will be staged north of the El Corazon Senior Center, located, 3302 Senior Center Drive. Rancho Del Oro Boulevard will be closed from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Fireworks display will be at 9:00 p.m. Live music and food trucks from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Limited parking will be available in the Ocean Ranch Business Park. No parking will be available at the El Corazon Senior Center.
Spectators are encouraged to arrive anytime after 6:00 p.m., park in the nearby lots, bring a beach chair, and walk to the viewing area on Rancho Del Oro Road.
Overflow parking will be available at El Camino High School. Spectators are encouraged to take the Sprinter Train. See the NCTD Holiday Schedule [Here]. This event is free and open to the public. Please carpool, as parking is limited.

Always a fun event, head down to the Oceanside Harbor for the 15th Annual, Oceanside Yacht Club, Yankee Doodle Dinghy Parade. People dress up their dinghy’s and other small craft in red white and blue and make several loops around the north end of the harbor. Parade begins at 1:00pm.
