Oceanside CA— Oceanside International Film Festival, North County San Diego’s largest film festival, will have Gay & Lesbian Films Screening Block with three serious LGBTQ films on the big screen 7:25 pm, Wednesday, August 10, at Sunshine Brooks Theatre, 217 N Coast Hwy, Oceanside, CA 92054 (other screening blocks start 6 pm and end at 10 pm).
The following three narrative short films will be presented/MC’d by Max Disposti, Founder-Executive Director of North County LGBTQ Resource Center: He And Rock & Roll (from Pasadena, CA), 30 Days to Say Goodbye (starring Eric Roberts, from Studio City, CA), and Belonging (from Istanbul, Turkey).
He and Rock & Roll takes place in 1974, when an American rock band called “The Crawl” is brought into the limelight by the false lover-like relationship between their lead singer Curt, and their guitarist Dorian (the film was made by a student of Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA). 30 Days to Say Goodbye is about a loving father of two, who fights to keep his sanity and his family as his husband’s mind slips away from complications sustained in an accident. Belonging is a cinematically poetic film about two girls Gizem and Bengi who were in love but the Turkish city didn’t welcome girls like them.
Tickets for the entire evening of August 10 are $15 general admission or $10 for students, military, and seniors. Festival passes are available.
