Escondido CA— The comedy ‘Silvia’ opens at the Patio Playhouse, 116 S Kalmia Street, Escondido, September 2, and runs through September 25.
Silvia, by A.R. Gurney, is an uproarious comedy about Greg, a middle-age man, unhappy with his life, and going through a mid-life crisis, decides to adopt an energetic stray dog, named “Sylvia,” whom he meets at the park. His busy, educator wife, Kate, is not a supporter of the idea or of the timing, and does not appreciate Greg’s rash decision. Their relationship suffers from this new addition to their family, and they are counseled by their friends new and old, as well as their therapist (all played by the same actor).
The play is directed by Samuel Young and produced by Samantha Goldstein.
