Early Bird Tickets on Sale Now for San Diego Architectural Foundation’s Orchids & Onions

Orchids and Onions Awards Program takes place October 13, 2016

San Diego County CA— The San Diego Architectural Foundation (SDAF) is now selling early bird tickets for its annual Orchids & Onions awards ceremony. Each year, SDAF recognizes the best (and worst) in architectural design, form and function at the awards ceremony. Over 160 nominations in various categories have been submitted and are currently featured on the Orchids & Onions website. Early bird ticket pricing is available for the first 150 tickets sold.

The 2016 Orchids & Onions Awards Ceremony, sponsored by NewSchool of Architecture + Design, will be held on October 13th at Horton Plaza Park and Spreckels Theatre starting at 5 p.m. Attendees will enjoy cocktails by Snake Oil Cocktail Company, food by Home Kitchen Culture, and a celebration of 40 years of growth and development in San Diego.

Produced by Breadtruck Films and sponsored by The Shiley Foundation, a special film will premiere at the awards ceremony that will look back on the past 40 years of Orchids & Onions.
“This event will be a meeting of the past and present, remembering some past awardees and jury members, and a look toward where development in San Diego is going,” said Perriann Hodges, SDAF Director, 2016 Orchids & Onions Program Co-Chair and Designer at Studio E Architects.

“We expect tickets to go fast this year with the special celebration of 40 years of Orchids & Onions,” said Lauren Kim, 2016 Orchids & Onions Program Co-Chair and Architect at Studio E Architects. “The public involvement in our awards program and on our interactive website has been at an all-time high and we continue to encourage the public to view and comment on their favorite projects before ‘People’s Choice’ voting opens on September 1st.” Click [here] to see the full list of Peoples Choice nominees
