KOCT: Journalist Roundtable Election 2016 Special ‘Live’ September 1

Oceanside CA— Tune to KOCT – Channel 18, Thursday, September 1st at 6pm to view the newest episode of Journalist Roundtable with three county-wide election topics:

  • 6:00PM. Our first guest is Gary Gallegos, Executive Director, SANDAG, speaking in favor of Proposition A: San Diego County Road Repair, Transit, Traffic Relief, Safety & Water Quality. Representing those opposed to the measure will be Diane Nygaard from San Diego Quality of Life Coalition
  • 6:40PM – Our second program is about the Lilac Hills Ranch Development Initiative. Speaking in favor of the Initiative is Carole Hodges . Speaking in opposition to the development is James E. Gordon with The Citizens and Taxpayers Opposed to Lilac Hills Ranch Campaign Committee.
  • 7:20PM – Our third program will focus on Measure MM- Job Training College Transfer, Veteran Support Measure. Voters in Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach, Del Mar and Carmel Valley can vote on this bond and it will require 55% of the vote to pass. Speaking in favor of the Bond will be the Superintendent of MiraCosta College, Dr. Sunny Cooke. In addition to inquiries’ from the three journalists on the panel KOCT has solicited questions from citizens who participated in an Oceanside Community Oversight Committee.

The host of this long-running monthly series is Kent Davy, the former Editor for the North County Times. He will be joined by Alison St. John, the KPBS North County Bureau Editor, and Logan Jenkins, a columnist for the San Diego Union-Tribune.
