Daily, NOW – April 2017, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. San Diego Botanic Garden. 230 Quail Gardens Drive. Free with paid admission or membership. Sculpture in the Garden. This unique exhibition showcases more than 50 sculptures from over 30 talented local artists set against the beautiful backdrop of the San Diego Botanic Garden. Daily, NOW – September 22, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. San Diego Botanic Garden. Ecke Building. 230 Quail Gardens Drive. Free with paid admission or membership. Plants In Focus. This unique joint exhibit between the Jerusalem Botanic Garden and San Diego Botanic Garden showcases the top photos taken by garden enthusiasts that put ‘Plants In Focus.’ The top three finalists from three different age groups (under 10 years, 10 – 18 years & 18 years old and above) are now on display at San Diego Botanic Garden. Saturday, September 10, 4:30 – 9 pm. San Diego Botanic Garden. 230 Quail Gardens Drive. $200 per person. Gala in the Garden: Grow With Passion. The San Diego Botanic Garden’s annual fund-raiser honoring Nan Sterman, host of “A Growing Passion” on KPBS. Guests have the opportunity to explore the Garden’s trails, enjoy fine wine, craft beer and the best dishes from local restaurants. Live entertainment and exquisite floral designs are also part of the outdoor festivities, with proceeds going to benefit Encinitas’ Garden jewel. Info: http://www.sdbgarden.org/gala.htm


Daily, September 23 – November 18, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. San Diego Botanic Garden. 230 Quail Gardens Drive. Free with paid admission or membership. Cornucopia: A Botanical Art Exhibit of Edible Plants by members of the Botanical Art Guild of Southern California. Thirty-nine pieces of art from 18 different artists from the Southern California Botanical Art Guild celebrate the diversity of plant life that humans use for food, beverages and to enhance the flavor of their favorite cuisine. Thursday, September 22, 10 am – 1 pm and Thursday, September 29, 10 am – 12 pm. San Diego Botanic Garden. 230 Quail Gardens Drive. SDB Garden Members: $30/Non-members: $36 per class. A $30 materials fee is paid directly to the instructor on the first day of class. Please register by September 16. Mosaic Garden Jewels. During this 2-day class, create a beautiful mosaic using ocean rocks and glass beads. Students will learn how to glue and grout colorful beads to create flowers, plants, or other shapes resulting in attractive garden art. Instructor: Candy Sharda. Saturday September 24, 9 am – 1 pm. San Diego Botanic Garden. 230 Quail Gardens Drive. SDBG Members: $59/Non-Members: $71. Flower Photography Artistic Effects. One of our most popular classes! Join acclaimed flower photographer Bob Bretell in the Garden as he teaches you how to use natural light to create beautiful and unique flower images. Bob will demonstrate how to use textured glass and camera movement to create impressionistic effects, as well as his signature style of ‘Painting with Light.’ You won’t want to miss this one! Living Wall/Vertical Garden. REGISTER TODAY! THIS CLASS WILL SELL OUT! Learn the basics of planting a living wall in just 3 hours! Students will be planting a 10” x 20” wall of succulent varieties. Living walls can be used to adorn exterior or interior spaces. Use your imagination to come up with striking patterns and unique designs with a multitude of colors/textures/sizes of succulents.
