The two days of festivities at the harbor began with Oceanside Fire Department Association Pancake Breakfast which was held both days and culminated with the annual Nail and Sail event. Each team is supplied with the same amount of building material, lumber, caulking etc and have two hours to build a boat capable of racing across the harbor multiple times. Teams are made up of three people for construction but only two are allowed occupy the vessel during the race.
