Oceanside Music Festival October 7 and 10

Oceanside CA— Beginning in the month of October, Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation begins its 15th annual Oceanside Music Festival. Held throughout the year, the series is focused on pairing student talent from within our community with both local performing professionals, and touring national artists (when they are present in the area), to create singular, life enriching educational opportunities. Free to the public performances are also in the works, featuring “flash concerts” (surprise performances), with diverse offerings of genres such as classical, bluegrass, jazz, blues, ethnic music representing the cultural makeup of our community, relying substantially on performing artists (students and professional) from North County San Diego community.

In honor of the National Arts Month, the 15th annual Oceanside Music Festival kickoff will begin with two arts partnership events at Muramid Mural Museum & Art Center, 212 Artist Alley, Oceanside, CA 92054, titled “Island Vibe” and “Blue Monday.”

“Island Vibe”

concert will feature live island music 5:00 to 9:30 pm October 7, 2016. There will also be a Pop Up Food Tasting Fundraiser to support the art center. “Island Vibe” is free to everyone. “Blue Monday”

Jazz and blues 7:00 to 9:00 pm October 10, 2016. Got the Monday Blues? Oceanside Music Festival will jazz up your evening with the best of Oceanside’s professional and student jazz and blues musicians featuring Robert Parker on piano, Mark Phelps on the bass, vocals by Eliane Weidauer, and special guest artists. “Blue Monday” admission is $15 for general admission, $10 for seniors, students and military with ID. Proceeds from this event will help fund Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation’s annual scholarship program. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
