Oceanside CA— MiraCosta College has launched a comprehensive television and digital ad campaign called, “Why I Chose MiraCosta” to broaden awareness of various college programs while highlighting various elements that make the college a great choice for students who want to begin or continue their higher education journey.
The advertisements reinforce many factors that make MiraCosta College distinctive as compared to other community colleges in North County San Diego. The three ads feature a nursing student, an award-winning music student and a military veteran majoring in biology and math.
In one of the 30-second ads, Jerry Borja says he chose MiraCosta College because of all the hands-on opportunities that make his learning experience fun and awesome. In another of the ads, nursing student and mother of three, Em Russell feels MiraCosta faculty really want students to succeed, which makes her feel like she is getting the education she needs to pursue higher degrees. In the other ad, soon-to-be transfer student and music major Jazmine Rogers says MiraCosta has helped her get her feet wet and learn what she wants to do before transferring to a four-year university.
In choosing the students and programs to be featured in the advertisements, MiraCosta College’s Public Information Office researched which of the college’s degrees and programs are most impacted or popular with students.
“It is important that our local community learns MiraCosta College has many degrees, programs and services available that are comparable to top universities in the nation, but at a fraction of the price,” said Cheryl Broom, MiraCosta College director of governmental relations, marketing and communications. “These advertisements convey just some of the many great things our college has to offer and what students can expect in choosing MiraCosta.”
The advertisements are airing now through November 7 on KGTV-10 and various cable channels in the North County Coastal area and social media platforms. The ads are also available to be viewed on the MiraCosta College YouTube channel at youtube.com/miracostacollege.
