Brews and Food Save Boobs at Barons Backroom Beer Pairing

San Diego County CA— In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, Barons Market is tickled pink to present the latest installment of its Backroom Beer Pairing series. On October 19, the family-owned market will transform loading docks and stock rooms into beer and food speakeasies. Guests at all three San Diego locations will enjoy fall inspired, all-natural appetizers paired with popular brews from San Diego brewery, The Lost Abbey.

100 percent of proceeds from San Diego locations will benefit Susan G. Komen San Diego. Susan G. Komen addresses the fight against breast cancer on all levels by identifying gaps in San Diego County’s breast cancer care and barriers to access.

“Susan G. Komen San Diego works every day to lift the spirits of women struggling with breast cancer – now it’s our turn,” says Rachel Shemirani, vice president of marketing at Barons. “You can’t underestimate the power of good food and good company for people going through tough times.”

In addition to eating and drinking for a pretty-in-pink cause, Barons hosts its Backroom Beer Pairings to support local microbreweries and bring the community together for an evening with neighbors and friends.

The October 19 menu featuring popular beers from The Lost Abbey includes:

  • Red Barn, a refreshing ale paired with Viola’s goat cheese crostini with jalapeño jelly
  • Avant Garde, an ale with a subtle yet firm hop presence paired with Irish cheddar, smoked ham and granny smith apple Panini’s
  • Judgment Day, an ale with layers of malt paired with spicy pulled pork tacos with southwestern slaw
  • Track 8, brewed with raisins, vanilla and toffee paired with salted caramel ice cream drizzled with maple balsamic vinegar

To enjoy these delectable pairings, support local business and give back to neighbors navigating breast cancer, head to your local Barons Market from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19. Tickets will sell out, so click here to purchase yours today.
