Carlsbad CA— The martinis were chilled, the mood was celebratory, and a terrific time was had by the 500 guests who attended Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad’s 35th Annual Black and White Masquerade Gala held September 24 at Omni La Costa Resort.
The dynamic Bonnie Foster Productions provided sensational sounds that kept the dance floor packed all night. Additional touches included a dance performance by Junior Jazzercise, a candy bar, a photo booth complete with dress-up props, and even a stilt walker! The event was emceed by Kimberly Hunt and her husband, Billy Ray Smith, and honored Club supporters, Maribeth and Mike Maher.
“I am so proud of the fun, memorable evening we created,” said Chair Barbi Nelson. Co-Chair Viola Wheelihan added, “Thanks to the talented members of the event committee, we were able to exceed our fundraising goals!”
The Club’s sound fiscal management practices and commitment to accountability and transparency have earned them a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. This is the fourth consecutive time that Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad has earned this top distinction.
Proceeds from the event go directly towards operating funds for Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad, which has played an integral role in the Carlsbad community since 1952.
