CPK’s first new North County location in 10 years showcases CPK’s new look and expanded menu featuring fresh and seasonal ingredients, inventive main plates, craft cocktails and local brews
Escondido CA— California Pizza Kitchen (“CPK”), the authority in creative dining with a California vibe, announced today the opening of a new restaurant in Escondido, Calif. Located inside the Westfield North County Mall at 272 E. Via Rancho Pkwy, the opening marks the first new CPK location in North County San Diego in a decade. Showcasing CPK’s contemporary new look and reimagined menu, CPK Escondido features high-quality, fresh and seasonal ingredients, inventive main plates, hand-tossed artisan pizzas, craft cocktails, local brews and more. The elevated dining experience is part of CPK’s transformational “Next Chapter” initiative coming to CPK locations nationwide.
To celebrate the restaurant’s grand opening, this morning CPK hosted an official ribbon cutting and ceremonial pizza slicing attended by Mayor Sam Abed, city officials and select Chamber of Commerce members.

Alongside classics like the Original BBQ Chicken Pizza, salads and pastas, highlights of CPK Escondido’s menu include:
- Fire-Grilled Ribeye: cooked with house-made pinot noir sea salt, topped with creamy bleu cheese butter and served with roasted fingerling potatoes and lemon-garlic wild arugula salad
- Hearth-Roasted Halibut: wild caught from Alaska and roasted on a cedar plank with butternut squash farro, grilled asparagus and baby kale
- Roasted Garlic Chicken with Seasonal Vegetables: a crispy-skin chicken breast in lemon-garlic sauce, with a medley of the season’s freshest vegetables
- Spicy Buffalo Cauliflower: fresh cauliflower florets fried to a golden brown with buttermilk batter, tossed in house-made Sriracha buffalo sauce and topped with a salad of celery, Gorgonzola and cilantro
- Rotating, featured seasonal dishes, hand-tossed pizzas and more

Craft cocktails, premium wines and local brews
CPK’s new hand-crafted cocktails feature premium spirits with fresh fruit purées and herbs, like the Blueberry Ginger Smash, made with fresh muddled blueberries, lime and cranberry along with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and Domaine de Canton Ginger, and the fresh and creative Beehive Sangria, a sweet blend of white wine, Cointreau, Monin Lavender, strawberry purée, honey and lemon.
CPK Escondido also features a selection of premium California wines and favorite local beers from Ballast Point, Belching Beaver, Green Flash and St. Archer.
Modern new look, with natural and sustainable elements
CPK Escondido’s creative indoor-outdoor space offers an upscale yet relaxed environment to dine and unwind. The approximately 7,200 sq. foot restaurant features an open kitchen centered around the open-hearth pizza oven where guests can watch their meals prepared from scratch, outdoor patio seating as well as a standalone bar inside the mall. Natural elements like reclaimed wood seating, a fresh herb garden, colorful décor and artwork of local landmarks add to the restaurant’s modern design and neighborhood feel.

Lunch Duos give guests a great value, with more than 80 fresh, made-to-order options to mix, match and enjoy in the middle of their time-challenged days.
The new CPK menu encourages diners to seek unique and seasonal flavor combinations and offers a Menu Adventure Guarantee: If a guest tries a new dish and is not satisfied, it will be replaced with his or her favorite item from the CPK menu.
