Oceanside CA— The City of Oceanside is committed to waste diversion and recycling. Our goal is Zero Waste. To help meet this goal, the City of Oceanside offers many recycling programs throughout the year to help make our recycling and zero waste efforts possible. The holiday season is no exception. Oceanside residents have curbside recycling options to help reduce the amount of waste heading to our landfill.
Christmas trees are collected to be recycled curbside until January 13 on your regular collection day. Residents are asked to remove all decorations and tree stands. If possible, residents are asked to cut down the tree to four-foot sections however, it is not required. Flocked trees cannot be recycled and must be disposed of through regular waste service, cut down and placed in the gray waste cart with the lid closed. Residents can also bring flocked trees to the City’s Operation Center at 4927 Oceanside Boulevard and place them in the available container in the front parking lot. The container will be on site until January 13.
After the holidays, many residents want to dispose of their old electronic materials. Residents may schedule up to five e-waste items for collection, three times annually. E-waste includes items such as televisions, computers, printers, and DVD players. To schedule a free e-waste pick up, call (760) 439-2824, at least 24 hours in advance of your collection day. E-waste may also be dropped off at Waste Management’s buy back center at 2880 Industry Street, Tuesday through Saturday at no charge. Proof of Oceanside residency is required.
