OMA Exhibition Reception this Saturday, January 14

Oceanside CA— Sip, nosh, and mingle with artists and fellow art lovers as OMA celebrates the opening of Trinh Mai: Lifeline, Dan McCleary, Etchings and Studies: Taller de Grabado, Oaxaca 2000–2016, and Alexia Markarian: Desire Is Never Enough.

Reception is on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from  6:00–8:00pm. OMA members free, visitors $10.

Trinh Mai: Lifeline

This exhibition is driven by innovative narratives of storytelling with works in charcoal, gouache, mixed media, and stitching that reimagine the artist’s personal memories, family roots, and spiritual connections.

About the act of printmaking and the act of artmaking as well, this exhibition features works McCleary made with master printer Fernando Sandoval as well as his hand-colored trial proofs and preliminary drawings.

Alexia Markarian: Desire Is Never Enough

Markarian has been making challenging and often confrontational artwork in a very wide range of media for more than 30 years. A restless experimenter and creator, she is known for using common materials in unexpected ways throughout her sculptural and design work—not to mention for presenting work that is psychologically charged.
