Join OMA’s Artist Alliance members for afternoon drinks and snacks. This is an opportunity to socialize with fellow artists and creatives, learn more about the community, and explore exhibitions at OMA for free.

First Friday Art Walk

Friday, July 7, 5:00–8:00PM       half-price admission

Downtown Oceanside comes alive with art, performances, music, poetry, activities, food, and fun for all ages at a variety of venues, and it all starts at OMA with half-price admission when you check in on the terrace.

Bronze Casting Workshop

Saturday, July 8, 1:00–4:00pm       free

Weekly workshops from June through September will focus on introducing bronze casting and discussing the history of bronze art as a medium for memorializing and contextualizing the experiences of warriors and war. Participants will create a positive wax reproduction of themselves that will be cast in bronze. VetArt is seeking active duty, veterans, or military family members to participate. Life Drawing

Artists will work from a combination of 5 to 40 minute poses during this
non-instructed session. Live model, table, and chairs are provided. Artists to bring their own drawing materials.

Artist Talk With Ted Meyer

Join artist Ted Meyer for an inspiring talk about his efforts to document people’s stories by painting, photographing, and printing from their scars in his Scarred For Life project.

A Taste Of Art: Collage And Assemblage

Thursday, July 13, 6:00–8:00PM       Members $35, Visitors $45

Join Robin Douglas using totally unique and chaotic materials to create a cohesive composition. Weave, tape, build, shape, glue, and join materials into a single piece in the style of Ann Hamilton and Andy Goldsworthy. Enjoy drinks and appetizers as well. All supplies provided.

Workshop: Experimental Watercolors Inside And Out

Tuesday & Thursday, July 18 & 20 1:00–4:00pm       Members $30, Visitors $40

Vivid colors and large expressive brushstrokes will be used on a variety of surfaces including paper and unique fabrics in this workshop with Robin Douglas. Inspiration will be drawn from imaginative and realistic subjects. Bring your favorite brushes and paints to complement what is supplied.

The Museum Ball: Puttin’ On The Ritz

Cheryl Tall’s work fuses storybook illustration with surrealism and medieval folk art.
