Encinitas CA— Last night, December 21, 2017, just before 10:30pm deputies from the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian near the 2500 block of S. Coast Highway 101.

The driver was proceeding northbound on S. Coast Highway 101 and struck a 35-year-old male causing life threatening injuries. The victim was not in a crosswalk and was wearing dark colored clothing as he ran eastbound across the dark highway.
