San Diego CA— The San Diego Chinese Historical Museum will be screening ‘Finding Samuel Lowe’ Saturday, January 27, 2pm to 4pm. The filmis based off the book “Finding Samuel Lowe: China, Jamaica, Harlem” by Paula Williams Madison, a New York Post must-read book. The screening will take place at the Chuang Archive & Learning Center, 541 B Second Ave 92101
The story follows Madison and her two siblings, who are from Harlem, as they unfold the story of their heritage, leading them through the story of their Chinese grandfather, Samuel Lowe. This film was an official selection at the San Diego Black Film Festival in 2015, and we are excited to host the screening as it makes its return to San Diego. Author and filmmaker Paula Williams Madison will be joining us at the museum for a book signing.
