Women to Explore Non-Traditional Paths to Career Success at Two Workshops in March

San Diego CA— This March, women looking to grow their careers have two chances to tap into often overlooked avenues to success at workshops hosted by the Junior League of San Diego. On March 3, women will learn from experts on the role of holistic wellness in leadership at the full-day Women’s Minds Women’s Bodies workshop. Then on March 17, guests will join internationally acclaimed author Nilima Bhat at the Shakti Leadership conference to discover how restoring balance between gender energies can lead to success in the workplace.

“Leadership trainings often focus on traditional business advice or industry-specific skills. At these new workshops, we’ll be in the room with experts who have a fresh, holistic perspective on how women can make the biggest impact at work,” says Rachel Thompson, president of Junior League of San Diego for 2016-2018.

The Junior League of San Diego is part of an international organization made up of women committed to developing the potential of women. Through a variety of trainings like these, the Junior League of San Diego aims to improve our community by empowering local women to become effective leaders.

Women’s Minds Women’s Bodies will include live music, participatory break out activities and lunch with an ocean view. Participants will learn from wellness and conscious leadership experts including faculty from University of California San Diego and the University of San Diego. They will cover topics including:

  • Women of impact: stepping into your full power
  • Transformational leadership from the inside out
  • Cultivate emotional resilience
  • Optimizing hormonal health
  • Effective mind-body stress management
  • Harness the power of conscious connection

At the Shakti Leadership conference, Bhat will show women how to restore the balance between traditionally masculine and feminine traits and facilitate workplace cultures where differences are utilized and celebrated. Participants will practice approaches including:

  • Sharpening self-awareness to increase one’s impact
  • Reframing any crisis as an opportunity to develop deeper skills

Women’s Minds Women’s Bodies will take place on March 3 between 8:30 – 4 p.m. at the Sanford Burnham Consortium for Regenerative Medicine, 2880 Torrey Pines Scenic Drive in La Jolla.
