Oceanside CA— On Thursday, April 5, 2018 the Oceanside Police Department received a call from the Carlsbad Police Department advising that one of their police officers had possibly committed a crime in the City of Oceanside.
After receiving this notification, Detectives from the Oceanside Police Department began conducting a follow-up investigation into this incident. It was later determined that the suspect, identified as Jeffry Edwards (DOB 06-19-80), had committed a residential burglary in the 3500 block of Windrift Way in the City of Oceanside. It was also determined that Edwards had been stalking the victim, who happened to be his ex-girlfriend, who lived at the residence.
Last night, April 6, 2018 at approximately 8:15 pm, Oceanside Detectives took Edwards into custody without incident in San Clemente, California. Edwards was processed and booked into the Vista Detention Facility on charges of PC 459 Residential Burglary and PC 646.9 Stalking.
