Oceanside CA— Oceanside residents got their first look at the newly remodeled Walmart Supercenter at 3405 Marron Rd on Friday following a ribbon-cutting celebrating the completion of the much-anticipated project.
“The remodel has been a big undertaking and we are excited to share the changes and upgrades we have made to the store with our customers,” said Store Manager Joseph Cisneros. “The completion of the remodel marks the start of a fresh new shopping experience that better serves today’s shoppers and we know our customers will love it.”
The Oceanside store has gone through an extensive remodel with the changes all focused on improving convenience and customer service. Customers can now enjoy the following store improvements:
- State-of-the-art electronics department with interactive displays that allow customers to try laptops, tablets, mobile phones and more before purchase
- New lights and register added in cosmetics area
- Expanded home and apparel departments with new layout and broader assortment
- Improved layout in produce and bakery
- Completely new pharmacy with private consultation room and additional service lanes
- Front of store remodel for faster and easier online pick-up
- New polished concrete floors
In celebration of the grand reopening, Walmart provided grants to local organizations including Veterans Association of North County($3,000), Oceanside Chamber Foundation($2,000), Oceanside Unified School District($2,000), and the Oceanside Police Officers Association Foundation($1,000). Deputy Mayor Chuck Lowery, Council-member Jerry Kern and the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce were also in attendance.
In mid-April, Walmart announced it expects to spend an estimated $145 million over the next year in California through the opening and remodeling of more than 30 stores as well as the rollout of several in-store and online innovations designed to help busy customers save time and money.
“It’s very important to us to have an organization like Walmart in our community and how much it means to our economy,” said Council-member Kern. “Walmart has long been an integral part of Oceanside serving as a leader in our community much like they are a leader in retail. Today’s celebration of the remodeled store demonstrates Walmarts’ commitment to our city in addition to the jobs they create and the support they continue to provide our community.”
