Homebuilding Industry Wraps Two Days of Education, Networking and Product Discovery at PCBC 2018

Sacramento CA— Home building professionals from across the country convened in San Francisco’s Moscone Center, June 27 – 28 to learn, network and discover new products at PCBC 2018, the largest annual homebuilding trade show in the Western United States. This business-to-business event provides customized content to support the growth and success of the housing industry. In 2018, new trends, new sessions and speakers, new events and more than 350 exhibitors provided the industry with tools they need to advance the art, science and business of housing.

Specialized sessions and panels brought fresh trends and topics to the community of homebuilding professionals looking to hone their skills and gain a competitive advantage. Ron Nestor, AIA, senior principal of WHA Inc. shared his thoughts on Rebuilding After the Fires, a topic that is top of mind after recent natural events. New speakers added to the 2018 PCBC roster included Suzanne Arkle, President & CEO, ZANN, Sterling Jawitz, Head of Real Estate Strategic Partnerships, Common, Brent Mather, AIA, LEED® AP, Design Director, Principal, Gensler.

With everything from building materials/structural products, to cabinets, appliances, flooring, faucets, solar, home technology and more, PCBC’s exhibits floor was where trends were showcased and new product offerings were discovered. We are pleased to provide education and product introductions that keep the industry inspired to construct the innovative homes of tomorrow.”

The 2018 keynote speakers represented varied backgrounds and life experiences, they elegantly brought the art, science and business of the industry to life with inspirational and thought-provoking presentations. Award-winning photographer Platon, best-selling author Patrick Lencioni, and Jay Rogers, CEO and co-founder of Local Motors shared their unique, creative and unexpected perspectives in an effort to encourage creativity and innovation.

Re-Think Conference, Land & Capital Forum and the pre-conference sessions provided PCBC attendees with thought-provoking insights and hands-on learning opportunities in the areas of residential design, marketing and organizational leadership, land acquisition, development, research, investment and entitlement. This full spectrum of sessions gave attendees the opportunity to connect with industry leaders and colleagues to collaborate on challenges and gain perspective on emerging trends. Additionally, open-to-all education opportunities were available throughout the event, including sessions in the Hub for Social Media. Conveniently located on the trade show floor, this lounge featured cutting-edge social media sessions where both experienced digital marketers and social media novices were introduced to innovative concepts to drive reach and engagement on various platforms.

The interactive LEGO to commemorate California Building Industry Association’s (CBIA) 75th Anniversary, was entertaining and well received. Over the course of the show, attendees contributed to the building of a LEGO community using building stations filled with LEGO supplies. This experience allowed attendees to showcase their creativity and collaborative nature.
