Oceanside CA— No other group in San Diego county has put on a Veterans Day celebration like El Camino High School. This will be the 25thconsecutive Veterans Day event at the school. No one has held as many consecutive Veterans Day events in San Diego County.
This year’s theme is Camp Pendleton, “The Home of the Marines!” At the same time, the school will be honoring the 75thanniversary of Women in the Marines.
The guest speaker is Brigadier General, USMC retired – John W. Bullard. He was commander at Camp Pendleton from 2013 to 2014. Bullard served 32 years – taking part in numerous operations in the Middle East and humanitarian efforts for those who suffered from Hurricane Katrina and Cyclone Sidr (Bangledesh).
Veterans will also spend part of the day in the classrooms telling students about what it means to be a veteran.
In addition, veterans from World War II, the Korean War, the Viet Nam War and the wars in the Middle East speaking to El Camino students.
The celebration is on, Friday, November 9, 2018. It begins at 8:30 AM at the Truax Theatre
