La Jolla CA— Founder of the Global Shabbat Project and influencer of world Jewry, Chief Rabbi Warren Goldstein of South Africa will address the San Diego community at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center (JCC) on Monday, December 3rd at 7 pm.
The Shabbat Project, a global grassroots movement, last year involved about two million Jews in more than 1500 cities and 97 countries around the world. Shabbat San Diego has been one of the leading cities in this project for each of the past five years. Rabbi Goldstein also established the Sinai Indaba which brings together an array of the foremost international Jewish thinkers and speakers and thousands of Jews of all persuasions, in what is one of the largest annual Torah conventions in the world. These and other initiatives of the Rabbi have changed the face of world Jewry.
His latest endeavor, the House of Learning, will be distributed globally through the Shabbat Project and their thousands of partnering network organizations. The House of Learning is a revolutionary ecosystem of multimedia products, experiences and spaces – expertly curated by global industry leaders to bring Torah wisdom to daily living. The curriculums are for parents and children, teenagers, college students, adults and seniors and all content is integrated across ages and platforms.
“Like The Shabbat Project, the House of Learning is a historic call to unite, not through pain, but in joy through the rich heritage that unites us,” said Rabbi Goldstein.
Selwyn Isakow, a Co-Founder of Shabbat San Diego indicated that San Diego will be one of the initial launch cities for the House of Learning program and will be available to all partnering local schools and organizations. “The program covers key texts, themes and episodes from Jewish texts creating a clear, inspiring and innovative journey through Jewish thought and values and what it means to be a Jew in today’s world. We expect to launch this program in mid-2019,” Isakow said.
