Encinitas CA— Events and Classes happening in February at the SD Botanic Garden, 230 Quail Gardens Drive, in Encinitas.

Saturday, February 16, 8 am – 12 pm. San Diego Botanic Garden. 230 Quail Gardens Drive. SDBG members & general public are invited. Registration ranges from $14 – $32 per person and dog. Two dog limit at Paw Walk.  

5K Paw Walk. San Diego Botanic Garden is teaming up with the Rancho Coastal Humane Society for our seventh annual “5K Paw Walk in the Garden.” Both organizations will be benefiting from this event. Participants will follow a 5K walk through the 37-acre garden with their furry friends. There will be pet products, food (for people), treats (for dogs), lots of great information for dog lovers, and (of course) dogs and puppies! Info: https://www.sdbgarden.org/pawwalk.htm


 Daily, NOW – early April 2019, 9 am – 5 pm. San Diego Botanic Garden. 230 Quail Gardens Drive. Free with paid admission or membership.

Sculpture in the Garden. This unique exhibition showcases 61 sculptures from more than 30 talented regional artists – including renowned local artist James Hubbell – set against the beautiful backdrop of the San Diego Botanic Garden. Take a self-guided tour with the Garden’s Sculpture Map available at our Welcome Center. Saturday, February 2, 9 am – 3 pm.  San Diego Botanic Garden. 230 Quail Gardens Drive. SDBG Members $95; Non-Members: $114. Fee includes materials.

Succulent Wreath. Design and create your own succulent wreath using over 350 cuttings from our big, beautiful 37-acre Garden! Mount your new wreath on your wall (indoors or outdoors) or display it on a table in your home. Please bring small clippers to class. Info: http://www.sdbgarden.org/classes.htm


Sunday, February 17, 9 – 11 am. San Diego Botanic Garden. 230 Quail Gardens Drive. SDBG members $32; non-members $40.

Forest/Nature Bathing. Shinrin-yoku – or Forest Bathing – is a way of connecting people with nature. The positive health effects of simply being in and walking around in a state of relaxation in nature has undergone significant scientific testing and validation in Japan and Korea. Saturday, February 23, 10 – 11:30 am. San Diego Botanic Garden. 230 Quail Gardens Drive. SDBG Members $18, non-members $22. Plus an $40 per student materials fee paid directly to instructor on day of class.

Orchid Kokedama Workshop. Kokedama is a traditional Japanese living art form where moss is used as a container for a plant. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the skills behind Kokedama and make a beautiful Orchid Kokedama.
