Exciting Dance Classes Open for Enrollment at Palomar College

San Marco CA— Two unique and exciting classes are now open for enrollment at Palomar College in San Marcos. The first is Cuban and Brazilian Drum, highlighting traditional rhythms on a variety of instruments. The instructor, Mark Lamson, is a world-renowned percussionist,recording artist, producer and educator who has studied extensively in Cuba, Brazil and Mexico. The class will cover proper technique for hand drums, as well as instruments used for Brazilian “carnival” style music.

All levels are welcome from beginner to advanced. Opportunities to play for a dance class as well as performances are available.Classes are held on Wednesdays from 3:50-5:55pm.

The second class is Afro-Cuban/Brazilian Dance designed to introduce traditional dances from Cuba and Brazil. All classes are accompanied by live percussionists. The instructor, Patriceann Mead, is the creator of the World Dance Program at Palomar College and is a highly acclaimed performer, choreographer and artistic director.
