A fun lineup featuring some of the top films of the 80s highlights an exciting May schedule at Rooftop Cinema Club San Diego
San Diego CA— Rooftop Cinema Club at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, the most unique and iconic outdoor theater experience in the city, has just rolled out an awesome lineup of film favorites for May. It’s loaded with great films of the 80s, top films from the past year, a special night in honor of E.T., and opportunities to celebrate Babysitter’s Day and Harvey Milk Day.

Featuring nine of the top films from the 80s during the May schedule, highlights include Molly Ringwald and Emilio Estevez in THE BREAKFAST CLUB on Wednesday, May 1; Eddie Murphy in COMING TO AMERICA on Thursday, May 9; Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Sigourney Weaver in GHOSTBUSTERS, which also celebrates 35 years since its 1984 release, on Tuesday, May 14; Michael J. Fox in BACK TO THE FUTURE on Friday, May 17, and the ageless Tom Cruise in TOP GUN on Saturday, May 18.
On top of those great classics, a special E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL theme-night is set for Wednesday night, May 8. Rooftop Cinema Club guests will be treated to E.T’s favorite candy, Reese’s Pieces, red hoodies, and even a replica of the basket bike E.T. rode in that will be perfect for fun photos. And for the 21-and-over crowd, there’ll be Coors Light on special.

A number of top recent releases and anniversaries will also dot the Rooftop Cinema Club San Diego calendar in May. One of 2018’s most popular films, the Queen-themed BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY, will show on Friday May 10 and again on Thursday, May 30. SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE will make its Rooftop Cinema Club San Diego debut on Saturday, May 25. THE NOTEBOOK, released in 2004, will celebrate its 15th anniversary in theaters, when it shows on Tuesday, May 7. National Babysitter’s Day, always celebrated the Saturday before Mother’s Day, will be recognized for all our mums out there when MARY POPPINS RETURNS lights up the big screen on Saturday, May 11. The timeless cult-classic, PULP FICTION, released in 1994, will celebrate its 25th anniversary on Wednesday, May 15. And on Wednesday, May 22, we’ll celebrate inclusion for all and the life of the late Harvey Milk, the first-ever openly gay elected official to serve in California, with a screening of BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN.
Rooftop Cinema Club is genuinely a one-of-its-kind outdoor movie-going experience. Rooftop Cinema Club is open to adults 18-and-over. Ticket prices start at just $17 per person for a single deck-chair beneath the stars. For $20, you can receive a single deck-chair along with bottomless popcorn, and for just $24 each, a couple can enjoy a film in the comfort of a double love-seat while also enjoying bottomless popcorn.
Rooftop Cinema Club is also excited to announce that Visa Signature® has come on board as a Premiere Sponsor across all current U.S. venues.
