Pala Casino Adds Brian Wilson and The Zombies to its All-Star 2019 Summer Concert Series

Pala CA— Pala Casino Spa & Resort’s sizzling summer of entertainment just got a little hotter with the addition of two rock-n-roll legends joining together for one incredible show.  Founding member of the Beach Boys Brian Wilson has teamed with recent hall-of-fame inductees The Zombies to create the “Something Great from ‘68” tour.  This concert event will also feature Al Jardine & Blondie Chaplin in rare appearances, as they add to a lineup of great entertainment.   Although Bran Wilson and The Zombies came from different shores and different styles of rock-n-roll, both share a common bond as each produced monumental albums that defined a generation of music.  Wilson’s “Pet Sounds” and The Zombies’ “Odyssey and Oracle” are hailed by critics as two of the best single record albums produced, consistently showing up on Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Albums of All Time.

Legendary songwriter Brian Wilson began his career as a teenaged founding member of The Beach Boys, who signed with Capitol Records in July 1962 and released their first album, Surfin’ Safari, that same year. The band’s initial surf-rock focus was soon broadened to include other themes. Wilson’s innovative vocal and instrumental arrangements for major hits including “I Get Around,” “California Girls,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “God Only Knows,” and the No. 1 smash “Good Vibrations” established The Beach Boys as America’s preeminent band of the 1960s.

With his own band, Wilson has performed major, sold-out tours in recent years, and with The Beach Boys he celebrated the iconic band’s 50th anniversary in 2012 with a major international tour and acclaimed studio album, That’s Why God Made The Radio. Brian Wilson brings the Something Great From ‘68 Tour to Pala Casino’s Starlight Theater on Saturday September 7, 2019.

Iconic British psychedelic pop legends The Zombies have returned to celebrate their long-awaited Induction into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Never content to only look back, The Zombies are  touring in support of their latest Billboard-charting album, Still Got That Hunger, lead by founding and current members, vocalist Colin Blunstone and keyboardist Rod Argent , alongside Steve Rodford on drums, and renowned session guitarist Tom Toomey . New member, Søren Koch , joined the band following the untimely passing of The Zombies’ beloved bassist Jim Rodford (formerly of ARGENT and The Kinks ) in early 2018.

The band’s live performances, described by Rolling Stone as “absolutely triumphant” , take fans on a journey through time, from their early hits…their 1968 masterpiece Odessey & Oracle …post-Zombies solo favorites…right to today with Still Got That Hunger.
