Lyft Collaborates with Amazon Prime Video for San Diego Comic-Con Experience

Transportation Network Provides Scooter Rides to 60,000 Sq-foot Exhibition to Help Attendees Travel with Ease

San Diego CA— Lyft announced its San Diego Comic-Con collaboration with the Amazon Prime Video Experience, a massive immersive fan experience happening directly across the street from the San Diego Convention Center along Island and First Avenue from Thursday, July 18 through Sunday, July 21.

Lyft will deploy fleets of scooters throughout Downtown San Diego, allowing Comic-Con badge holders and area visitors to easily travel to and from the stand-alone activation. On-site, attendees can explore the immersive experience, showcasing three highly-anticipated Amazon Original series – “The Boys,” “The Expanse” and “Carnival Row.” Throughout the Gaslamp Quarter, Lyft Scooters will feature co-branded tags with information and directions to the Amazon Prime Video Experience.

At the Amazon Prime Video Experience, attendees can enjoy Lyft tents, lounge seating and its large pink van where Lyft representatives will hand out free helmets to riders, show attendees how to book a Lyft Scooter and offer safety tips to new users and direct customers to nearby designated scooter parking zones on all four corners next to the activation. Lyft Scooter riders who park in these designated areas, noted in the Lyft app, will receive $1 off their ride.

“There’s always so much to see in and around the San Diego Convention Center during this eagerly awaited week,” said Kyle Zuvella, Lyft bikes and scooters market manager for San Diego. “We encourage everyone to explore Comic-Con via Lyft Scooters and rideshare as a way to avoid parking hassles and get around Downtown with ease.”

Lyft’s presence at the Amazon Prime Video Experience is just one way the company will be supporting Comic-Con festivities. In addition to meeting transportation needs, Lyft will provide a complimentary hydration station around a concentrated area, the corner of MLK and Fifth Avenue.

Lyft will also be offering a promo code to those watching Batman be inducted into the Comic-Con Museum’s Hall of Fame. Die-hard fans can use code CCMBATMAN for 30% off two total rides, to and from the museum at Balboa Park, on Comic-Con Preview Night on July 17, 2019 beginning at 3 p.m.

Additionally, those using public transportation to travel to, from and around Comic-Con can use the promo code ComicConMTS for 20% off two total rides to and from specific MTS stations during Comic-Con.

The Amazon Prime Video collaboration is also part of Lyft’s San Diego County safety and sustainability campaign, supporting Vision Zero, with a goal of reducing traffic deaths to zero by 2025, and the Climate Action Plan, which calls for the elimination of half of all greenhouse gas emissions by 2035. Among many related efforts, Lyft is one of the top 10 voluntary purchasers of carbon offsets in the world to ensure all rides are carbon neutral to fight climate change.
