Oceanside CA—Officer Molly Lyons was sworn in as a Community Service Officer with the Oceanside Police Department on August 22, 2019 during ceremonies at the Police Department Headquarters.  Her mother, Cindy Lyons pinned her badge on as those in attendance looked on. Officer Lyons now joins the ranks of a family of law enforcement professionals since many of her uncles and cousins have either retired from law enforcement or are still currently serving as active police across the nation. Making them a true family of Blue Bloods.

Chief Frank McCoy congratulated Officer Lyons and noted that Officer Lyons is the daughter of retired Police Detective Matt Lyons who finished his career with Oceanside in 2015. Almost 20 years earlier, Molly’s mother pinned on Detective Lyons’ badge when he first joined the same police department.

A number of friends and family were in attendance share this special moment, to include Officer Lyons’ younger brother Mike.

Congratulations Community Service Officer Molly Lyons and thank you for your service to our community!
