The chalk artists began their asphalt painting early Saturday, ready to watch and review as they perform this ancient Italian art form. The artists hail from as far away as Japan and other states as well as locally and the level of professionalism and talents are outstanding.
In addition to the blocks of asphalt chalk artists there are about 100 tents of Artists whose talent’s range from crafts, drawings, sculpturing, photography, metal work and surprises which will absolute astound you.
The Food Court offers snacks, lunch meals or drinks for almost every taste bud, ranging from grilled cheese to Lobster rolls. There are two Beer and Wine Pavilions located at either event entry.
Sunday’s Performance Schedule starts at 10 a.m. with the North County Arts Network Showcase Hour,
Followed by Ron Hill at 11:15 to 12 noon; Whitney Shay and Ben Powell at 12:15-1 p.m.; Lisa Sanders 1:15-2:15p.m.; Grand performance with A.J. Croce 2:30 to 4:00 p.m.
In April 2020, April 25th & 26th to be exact, The Mission Federal ArtWalk Festival, “Connecting Creative Communities” will cover 16 blocks of Little Italy’s neighborhoods.
August 8th & 9th, 2020, Liberty Station will hold its 15th Annual Fine Arts Festival which is located in Point Loma.
