Firefighters Quickly Contain Fire in Oceanside Residence

Oceanside CA— Late Monday afternoon, January 13, 2020, at 5:20pm, fire units from Oceanside along with North County and Vista Fire Departments were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 1494 Chaparral Way in Oceanside.

Oceanside Engine 216 arrived on scene approximately eight minutes later to confirm heavy smoke from the first floor of the residence. Crews extended hose lines for fire extinguishment and conducted a search of the residence.

The fire was brought under control by 5:41 and it was confirmed that no residents were inside the structure. The fire was contained to the kitchen, which was the room of origin.

There were no injuries to any residents or firefighters on this incident.

An Oceanside Fire Department Investigator remained on scene determining cause and origin of the fire. No damage estimate was released.
