Oceanside CA— Law Enforcement is ever changing for police officers. One thing that never changes for a police officer is their heart for kids.
Hundreds of thousands of kids are in foster care every year in the US and an average of 1,200 enter the system every day. The Oceanside Police Officers’ Association (OPOA) would like to help make a difference and give back to the kids we met along the way.
As a kid we all remember that big moment when we got our first bike. Without even realizing, it gave us a sense of freedom and peace, even for a moment in time. Often times, kids in foster care never get that first bike. Let’s help them have that first bike feeling and a continued sense of something as their own.
Once the OPOA meets their fundraising goal, we will set up a date to build the bikes before they go off to their new owners. OPOA will schedule a date and everyone will be welcome to come and help assemble the bikes.
