Carlsbad Republican Women Welcome Dan McAllister- June 23

Carlsbad CAJoin the Carlsbad Republican Women on Tuesday, June 23rd, as we welcome Dan McAllister, San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector. We will meet virtually on ZOOM and look forward to his presentation, “Property Tax Updates with Dan McAllister.”

McAllister was elected San Diego County’s Treasurer-Tax Collector in November 2002 and re-elected to his fifth term in June 2018 by an overwhelming 100% majority of the vote. Not only is he responsible for the collection of more than $7 billion in property taxes each year, he also manages the County’s $12.3 billion Investment Pool. He oversees the administration of the County’s $1.5 billion defined contribution program. Since assuming office, McAllister has worked extensively to improve customer service, enhance communications and outreach initiatives, advocate for diversity, and assure the fiscal stability of the treasury.

McAllister serves as a member of the San Diego County Employees Retirement Association (SDCERA), which manages more than $11 billion in investments; he also serves on the board of CalTRUST, which manages a portfolio of $2.8 billion. Additionally, he is President of the State Association of County Retirement Systems (SACRS) and a former board of directors’ chair of the internationally recognized San Diego Convention Center Corporation. Prior to his election as San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector, Dan was a successful financial consultant and investment broker.

A second-generation San Diegan, Dan holds a Bachelor’s degree (BA) from California State University, Fresno, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from United States International University. He has also completed executive education programs in portfolio concepts and management at Stanford University and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. He contributes considerable time and resources to community service as a participating member of the Boards of Directors of the Jackie Robinson YMCA, Habitat for Humanity, and the New Americans Museum, San Diego.
