Suspect Arrested for Attempted Homicide after Woman Sustains Life Threatening Injuries in Stabbing Attack

Oceanside CA— On Thursday, June 26, 2020, Oceanside Police Detectives were able to identify and arrest 23 year-old Hunter Berger-Parks, of Oceanside, for a brutal attack that took place on June 20, 2020.

At approximately 8:25 PM, on Saturday the 20th, Oceanside Police Officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 500 block of Roja Street in northeast Oceanside. The victim, a 32 year-old female, was attacked by a suspect on the sidewalk of Roja St. The woman was viciously attacked and sustained multiple stab wounds. The suspect was unknown to the victim of the attack.

Witnesses described the suspect as a White male in his early 20’s, wearing an orange shirt and jeans. Initially it was believed by the staff at the hospital that the victims injuries were non-life threatening. However, once she was in surgery, it was found that the injuries were indeed life threatening.

Responding officers and detectives were able to locate security video footage of the suspect.

The victim, identity withheld, remains in critical condition.
