The San Diego Business Journal honors extraordinary leaders revealed during extraordinary times
San Diego CA— San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, is proud to announce that SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell was named a San Diego Top 50 Executive by the San Diego Business Journal. This recognition highlights top local influential leaders who made positive impacts during these unprecedented times. These executives helped both the people who work for them, and the community as a whole. Here is the complete list of 50 leaders selected.
With the closure of non-essential businesses as a result of the pandemic, SDCCU quickly recognized that many would be negatively impacted and experience financial hardship. Campbell and the SDCCU leadership team worked quickly to help their customers by extending financial relief, which included a 90-day deferral option on all consumer loans, including real estate, auto, credit card and personal loans. Business loan and commercial real estate deferment relief was also offered. As a result, the credit union deferred more than 50,000 in loans totaling over $1 billion in balances.
“I am both honored and humbled to be recognized among so many exceptional companies and leaders that are doing great work to help get the San Diego community through this tough time,” said Campbell. “I am also proud to be part of an industry and lead an organization that is focused on helping people, which is what sets credit unions apart from other financial institutions.”
Campbell has earned a number of notable awards for her accomplishments and leadership in the time she has been with SDCCU. In 2019, she was named CEO of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal and recognized with the North San Diego Business Chamber’s 2019 Business Leadership Award. In 2018, she was selected as one of 25 San Diego Business Women of the Year both by the San Diego Business Journal and honored with a Bronze Stevie Award for 2018 Female Executive of the Year.
