Mission Federal Credit Union Recognized for Significant Commendations and Achievements

San Diego CAMission Federal Credit Union, San Diego’s largest member-owned, not-for-profit, full-service financial institution exclusively serving San Diego County, was recognized by DepositAccounts.com of Lending Tree in the 2020 Top 200 Healthiest Credit Unions in America.

DepositAccounts.com evaluates the financial health of over 10,000 banks and credit unions in the United States once per quarter. To determine bank ranking and recognition, DepositAccounts.com grades each institution on numerous factors, including capitalization, deposit growth, and loan-to-reserve ratios.

“We believe it is important to give consumers a way to evaluate the financial health of their institutions,” said Ken Tumin, founder of DepositAccounts.com. “Our list empowers consumers to make informed decisions when selecting a financial institution.”

In addition, Mission Fed was honored with a 5-Star Superior rating for financial strength and stability from BAUERFINANCIAL, Inc. Five stars is the highest rating attainable from BAUERFINANCIAL (the Nation’s Bank and Credit Union Rating Firm for over a quarter of a century) and is based on the overall financial picture of the institution.

Debra Schwartz, President/CEO of Mission Fed, said “It is such an honor to have Mission Fed Credit Union recognized among the top 200 healthiest credit unions in America. Being part of this list shows our commitment to excellence. We’re equally honored to earn the 5 Star Superior Rating from BAUERFINANCIAL, in recognition of Mission Fed’s excellent financial strength and stability.”

Mission Fed ranked #29 of 5,321 National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) insured credit unions, earning Mission Fed the designation as the top ranked Credit Union in San Diego County. Mission Fed also made the S&P Global Market Intelligence’s 2019 top credit union list; the organization has donated $4,000 to Direct Relief on behalf of Mission Fed.
