Carlsbad Police Arrest Residential Burglary Suspect

Carlsbad CA— On Friday morning, August 7, 2020, at 6:48 a.m., officers from the City of Carlsbad Police Department responded to the 5300 block of El Arbol Drive for a report of a subject inside a residence. The homeowner confirmed no one was supposed to be inside.

On arrival, officers observed a male inside the residence. The male fled into a bedroom upon seeing the officer. Officers made verbal contact with the subject through the closed door. After several hours of unsuccessful negotiations with the subject, the male refused to exit the room.

Officers identified the subject as 45-year-old Michael Shawn Wade from Arizona. Officers arrested Wade for Residential Burglary and Delaying/Obstructing an Officer and booked him into the Vista Detention Facility.
