Fire Inside Wall Damages Oceanside Home

Oceanside CA— Oceanside Fire Department with mutual aid units from the Vista Fire Department responded to a working residential structure fire on the 2300 block of Back 9 Street in Oceanside just after 5:30 pm Saturday afternoon.

The first arriving engine found smoke and flames within the wall behind the fireplace and chimney. Fire crews made access to the interior of the home to advanced hose lines and extinguished the fire.

Concurrently, arriving fire companies entered the unit and pulled ceiling material to expose the attic to check for any extension.

The fire was declared out with no extension within 30 minutes of the initial alarm.

Units stayed on scene to perform salvage and overhaul.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Oceanside Fire Department’s Duty Fire Investigator.

No residents or fire personnel were injured during the incident.

The residents will be displaced until the unit can be restored.
