Oceanside CA— Sunday afternoon, February 28, 2021 at 3:47pm, units from the Oceanside Fire Department were dispatched to reports of a structure fire at 226 S. Pacific St. in Oceanside.
Due to unusually heavy weekend traffic at the coast, there was a slight delay for the first arriving fire units to arrive on scene. At 4:03pm Oceanside Engine 211(E211) confirmed that a one-story single-family residence at the dispatch address had fire involvement toward the rear of the house. Following an initial report on conditions, E211 established their own supply line and pulled attack lines through the back of the home for primary search and fire control.
The E211 officer maintained mobile Incident Command while initiating extinguishment efforts and coordinating subsequent fire units. Due to the heavy weekend traffic in the area, OPD officers were needed to divert traffic around the incident scene for the safety of all involved.
With assistance from additional units, the fire was considered under control by 4:16pm. Fire units were able to contain the fire to the room of origin.
No residents or firefighters were injured during this incident. Mutual Aid was provided by the Vista Fire Department.
The cause and origin of the fire is currently under investigation by an Oceanside Fire Department Duty Investigator.
