Exciting Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Set for May 20
San Diego CA— The San Pasqual Economic Development Corporation’s newest project in Valley Center will be a first-of-its-kind fuel center and market with two separate drive-thru windows: a drive-thru convenience store and a dedicated window for ordering QDOBA Mexican Eats® (QDOBA). The project will open on May 20 and will be marked with an exciting grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony.
“We’re incredibly excited to see this project finally come to life after many years of planning. This has been part of our vision from the beginning, to bring convenience to San Pasqual Tribal members, community residents and visitors alike,” says Hellyaachwehay Quisquis, President and CEO of the San Pasqual Economic Development Corporation.
Located in one structure, the project features two innovative and distinctive brands, Horizon Fuel Center and The Pit Stop Market, which takes convenience to the next level. Horizon Fuel Center, offering quality fuel for less, will provide high-tech gas pumps with entertainment screens, EV charging stations, propane, pump dispensed diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), diesel fuel, high-octane racing, regular fuel, and a diesel fuel island specifically designed to accommodate large trucks and RV’s.
The fuel center will include high-tech EV chargers – specifically, the Boost Charger by FreeWire, the first battery-integrated ultrafast electric vehicle (EV) charger deployed in the U.S. The Boost Charger can be powered from a single-phase connection and installed in places that previously could not support higher power demand. It offers lower energy costs, unparalleled speed of up to 480 miles of range with a single, one-hour charge and intelligent charging with full visibility into charger status and usage. The structure will also include the newest technology and solar lighting in the parking area.
Located inside the main structure will be The Pit Stop Market, a mini market with a drive-thru feature that will offer a large selection of gourmet coffee, snacks and essentials, making it a true one-stop shop. QDOBA Mexican Eats® (QDOBA), the largest franchise opportunity within the fast-casual Mexican segment, entered into a joint venture with the San Pasqual Economic Development Corporation to open a new restaurant in The Pit Stop Market in Valley Center. QDOBA serves flame-grilled, handcrafted and customizable made-in-house Mexican eats with the option to add its signature creamy queso and guacamole for free on any entrée. Guests can either dine in or drive-thru at The Pit Stop Market.
“Valley Center is experiencing new exciting residential growth and development, and we’re excited to be a part of that growth and to bring our QDOBA flavor to the community!” says Mary Richardson, Director of License Operations and Business Development at QDOBA Mexican Eats®.
This $7 million project brings high quality and convenience to the region, tribal members, residents, and visitors. Spending a significant amount on this project is important to the tribe to ensure the building beautifully complements the area, is something tribal members are proud of, serves its residents and welcomes the community. The two have been built to offer a unique experience not just to guests in the area that visit the many attractions but also to the residents of Valley Center.
