Arrest Made in Shooting at Oceanside Transit Center

Oceanside CA— On Thursday, September 30, 2021, at approximately 7:15 AM, Oceanside Police responded to a reported shooting at the Oceanside Transit Center, 195 South Tremont Street. When officers arrived, they were directed to a male subject (31 years of age) who had sustained gunshot wounds to his abdomen and left hand. He was airlifted to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla.

Today, Thursday, October 7, 2021, at approximately 8:45 AM Oceanside Police Detectives, working from public information, were able to locate and arrest the suspect in this incident. The suspect is identified as 38-year-old Brett Burgess.

Burgess was arrested on a Felony Warrant for Attempted Murder.

The weapon, a hand gun, used in this case was also recovered.
