Owner Amanda Marie’s Story Amanda Marie’s, owner of Blessed & Boujee Boutique, goal is to inspire other women to be strong and independent by providing a one-stop fashion boutique that meets all their needs.
Raised by a working single mother in New York, Amanda got her first job in her teens to help support the household. It was in that moment she developed as a strong independent woman, dedicating her strong work ethic to her mom who sacrificed so much.
Amanda spent her 20’s working in a variety of different jobs, mostly in sales, until a golden career opportunity presented itself. The only problem? Taking the job would mean moving to San Diego. The first year was tough. Being single and alone in a new place was frightening, but Amanda was determined to find herself again – her authentic self.
Amanda explains she’s spent most of her life struggling with her weight. That all changed when she came across a fun clothing line while browsing Facebook. The moment she tried on her first order, Amanda knew she had never felt this good in her skin as a plus-size woman. She was so excited about her new outfits and wanted to share it. She signed up to sell clothes as a side gig before leaving NY and that gave her an idea.
Once Amanda found attire that made her feel amazing, she knew she wanted to inspire other women to feel the same in their skin too. She wanted them to feel as inspired and excited as she did the first time a dress fit perfectly. She wanted them to feel supported and blessed. And that’s how Blessed & Boujee Boutique was born.
